As I was reading and doing a little research for this blog yesterday, I came across this great quote;
"Painting is just another way of keeping a diary...Pablo Picasso.
As a young girl, keeping a diary was the thing to do. Teen movies were written around the theme of a younger brother, or an older sister or, maybe even a parent reading your diary and all the consequences that followed. They were personal, for your eyes only. Some models even had little locks. Of course the big question was then, where to hide the KEY.
The idea behind this daily diary writing was to have a secret place to share your deepest secrets and ideas. Jump ahead to now, and the name has changed, a Journal is where we share all our hopes and dreams. There are bullet journals, business journals, sketching journals, travel journals, a private place to express and share our goals, dreams and wishes.
So I suppose this Daily Abstract Blog is in many ways a visual way of keeping a diary. Do you keep a journaled diary? No matter what name we give to it, we are recording our personal journey with friends and family. Keeping a record for future family members.
